Dr. Edgar completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry, graduating with high honors in 1994. After practicing as a general dentist for eight years, he returned to OHSU for endodontic graduate training and received his Specialty Certificate in Endodontics in 2004. Dr. Edgar is one of a select group of endodontists in the state of Oregon to become a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. To achieve Diplomate status, an endodontist has shown great inner motivation and exceptional commitment to continuing professional growth. A Board-Certified endodontist understands the importance of: achieving the highest level of knowledge and skill possible; continually pursuing new knowledge and experience; fully understanding and applying new research and advances to the practice of endodontics; and the highest possible quality of care for the patient. Certification, a voluntary process, requires a review of the applicant’s education and successful completion of a rigorous three-part examination process. In addition, Dr. Edgar is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, a member of the American Dental Association, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Multnomah County Dental Society. He has been chosen by his peers as a Top Dentist in Portland Monthly magazine each year since its inception in 2007.
